The 2012 Honda Classic is still eight months away, but has already locked up reigning U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland to headline the field.

The Honda Classic features one of the toughest courses on the PGA Tour, the Champion Course, which was redesigned in 1990 by Jack Nicklaus. As the longest active title sponsor on the PGA Tour, The Honda Classic has provided sensational play and intense competition from the world's top golfers. Since its inception, the tournament has contributed more than $18 million to national and local charities, including the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to provide charitable support for activities that advance and enhance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases and disorders.
